Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.
All things considered, I’m blessed to be able to see 46 years.
Quick update. I’m still in the fight. According to my last scans my cancer is stable. Which means it is not growing, which is the goal of chemotherapy now.
My next scans had to be rescheduled so I won’t have another update on the effects of the chemotherapy for several more weeks.
In other news I’ve been working on addressing other issues regarding my health. I’ve been working with a doctor on trying to heal my feet. They have had severe neuropathy since 2021. So far the regimen he has me on is giving me some relief. Part of the issue was I had a severe vitamin D deficiency. We have addressed that issue because it helps the nerves heal.
The other issue was I discovered I had mild diabetes. According to my new primary care physician my numbers were just over the line. Long term chemo can impact blood sugar levels plus I have gained weight over the last four years of dealing with cancer because of steroid use and the inability to exercise consistently because of my feet.
Long story short I don’t have to do insulin, just oral medication and a lifestyle change. Now that my feet are a little better I’ve been able to exercise. I’ve also gone back to my plant based diet which I was on when I got cancer on 2020. I’m drinking nothing but water (and coffee 😉) So far I’ve lost 27 pounds. I have several more pounds to lose, but I’m on the right track. If you see me dropping weight it is because I’m working at it so don’t be alarmed.
I feel better and as a result the chemotherapy treatments don’t seem to feel as strong. I definitely don’t have the same side effects as before which also allows me to be more active.
As always mental and emotionally I’m going well.
I’m enjoying life and enjoying my family. Looking forward to our family vacation next month.
Overall I am doing better than ever. My prognosis is still the same (cancer is inoperable) but I have a lot of life to live and a lot to live for so don’t worry about me going anywhere anytime soon 😉
Thanks for your prayers and support.
